#NHS1000miles 2021 are you in?
How has 2020 been for you?
As Nessa, played by Ruth Jones in Gavin and Stacey would say ‘I’m not gonna lie to you…’ it’s been an odd, frustrating and on occasions very very sad year. I’ve said goodbye to too many people in 2020 and am acutely worried about the long term impact of the global pandemic on our children and young people. However something that has kept me grounded has been running and the wonderful team #NHS1000miles. As I scroll through my camera roll I’m reminded of lots of happy times in 2020 …
January 2020 ‘Cold Christmas’ ultra with Elaine & Alex Park Running with Karen, Charlotte & Jerry, Feb 2020March 2020 provided the final official run before the Pandemic took hold … April 2020 brought out rainbow running shirts When the official ultras are cancelled we make our own, thanks Barbara, May 2020 June 2020 meant running through glorious fields of poppies July meant Saturday morning running with Sharon and Louise August meant a self organised marathon from Rhossili to Mumbles. I think coastal runs are my all time favourite! September meant celebrating a 50th birthday whilst playing aeroplanes October was the very hilly and windy Beachy Head, which was brilliantly organised!
November offered beautiful views of Hertfordshire, lots of muddy trails explored in 2020
And December provided Santa’s helper, the wonderful ever cheerful Jane!
Hoping you’ll join us on the adventure of #NHS1000miles in 2021 😉

Thinking about joining 2022. I’m 64, a GP, and not a runner, but have lost nearly 3 stones in the last 6 months. Time now to get fitter!
